ADM Donates $1,900 to Foundation

ADM, parent company of Lemont-based ARTCO, recently donated $1,900 to the Foundation. The grant will fund exploration of Wisconsin Fast Plants by 270 eighth grade students. The students will conduct hands-on experiments exploring genetics and plant life cycles.

Foundation Awards $32,000 in New Grants

Haunted Central a Screaming Success!

Thank you for supporting Haunted Central 2015! 2,300 brave souls visited this year, raising $18,000. The proceeds will benefit the SD 113A Educational Foundation and the Hope & Friendship Foundation.

This is truly a community event, and we are grateful to the SD 113A Board of Education and staff, the Hope & Friendship Foundation, and the countless community organizations, businesses and individuals who dedicated time, money and creativity to this year’s haunting.

Grant Awards

$32,000 was awarded in grants for the 2015-2016 school year. The Foundation awarded 15 new grants in 2015 totaling $32,000. The projects, which will be implemented during the 2015-16 school year, add new resources and technology to classrooms across all three district schools. The SD113A Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity committed to improving academic outcomes for all students in the Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A. Since 2010 the Foundation has funded more than $150,000 in grants to teachers across the district. We have provided dynamic instructional tools such as iPads, Mimio Teach Systems, MP3 players and microscopes. We have supported innovative teaching techniques by funding programs like the JASON Project, Nature Mapping and math learning games. We have provided students with access to educational software including BrainPop and Raz-Kids online reading resource. And we have filled classrooms with new materials to help learners across all abilities stay ahead of the curve.
